It was a great honor and privilege to meet the Rotary International President Stephanie Urchick and Rtr. Claude Aguirre, President of Rotaract Club of Lausanne during the Rotaract UN Days in Switzerland.
In our brief interaction with president Stephanie, I was stuck with her commitment to Rotary’s core values of Service Above Self, Fellowship, diversity and integrity. Her leadership embodies the essence of Service & the power of collective action for impact.
She reminded us that leadership is not just about influence or tittle but about using that influence to empower others and create lasting change, and I totally agree with this.
As a Rotaractor (member of a Rotaract club) who is passionate about making a difference, this interaction reignited my motivation to continue serving communities, leading boldly, advocating for Environmental Sustainability, Climate Action and even mentoring the next generation of leaders.
Her words of encouragement and wisdom reaffirmed the importance of staying committed to impactful service no matter how small or large our contributions may seem.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Lausanne, whose support, along with the UN Days committee and Claude, made it possible for me to come to Switzerland. Without the Rotary Lausanne, this would not have been achievable.
